Risk and Live

To live a life of comfort, safe and sound,

Is to miss the thrill that risks can bring around.

For life is not a stagnant, steady flow,

It's an adventure where risks can help us grow.

We all have dreams we want to chase,

But fear and doubt can hold us in one place.

We hesitate to take a step, to try,

To risk it all and reach for the sky.

But in taking risks, we learn to trust,

Our instincts and our abilities, and we must

Believe in ourselves and take a chance,

To experience life in its full expanse.

To take a risk is not to be reckless,

But to explore the unknown and be relentless.

For it is only in risking it all,

That we can truly rise and stand tall.

Let go of fear, and take that leap,

The rewards are plenty, and the memories will keep.

For in taking risks, we find our way,

To a life that's rich, full of color and play.

Hope

Hope is the anchor of the soul,

A steadfast refuge in life's toll,

And in the Bible, we find the goal,

Of a hope that fills us whole.

For God's promises are true,

And in them, we find hope anew,

In times of trouble and despair,

God's word lifts us from the snare.

Like the rainbow after the flood,

Or the manna given in the wilderness wood,

God's provision and love endure,

And in them, we find hope secure.

And in the ultimate sacrifice,

Of Jesus on the cross, we realize,

That our hope is not in vain,

For in His resurrection, we gain,

A hope that death cannot destroy,

A hope that fills our hearts with joy,

For in Christ, we have eternal life,

And in Him, we find hope that's rife.

Let us hold fast to the hope we profess,

For in it, we find God's faithfulness,

And as we journey through life's scope,

May our hope in Christ forever be our hope.

Self-Control

Self-control, a virtue to behold,

A strength to keep the soul from getting cold,

To reign in impulses that run wild,

And choose a path that's gentle, meek, and mild.

The Bible speaks of this trait so dear,

It teaches us to control our fear,

To master our desires and our tongue,

And walk the path of righteousness, among.

In Proverbs, we read of self-control,

A jewel that's worth more than gold,

For it brings peace to a troubled heart,

And guides the soul to a brand-new start.

Paul, too, spoke of this noble trait,

And urged us to practice it, before it's late,

For it leads to a life that's pure and true,

A life that's pleasing to God, anew.

Self-control, a fruit of the Spirit,

A gift that brings us joy and merit,

So let us practice it, day by day,

And let our light shine, in every way.
