I SHED A TEAR

Pure.

I shed a tear, when I think of you dear
Not out of fear or despair
But of your love, so pure
I call, just for you voice to hear
Like a sweet melody, it is, for sure
My various and sundry emotion you reassure
What else can be this pure...?!
If not LOVE.

PASSING STORM

Passing Storm.

What will you say when the storm is over?
When you finally realize it's really over!
And you never cared about the cover!

In good times we celebrate
In bad times you castigate
Why can't we just communicate

It's life that we must celebrate
Before it becomes too late
Remember life has no sell by date

Every morning is a new opportunity
For us to spread love and unity
With humility, To all of humanity.

There is no need to fuss
When we can all pass
Delight to each of us

Delight in the understanding
I'll never leave you hanging
In my heart you forever remaining

NEGATIVE ETHNICITY

The basis of our failing state
As we foolishly change fate
To suit our personal taste
Yet we know it's a waste

A waste of time and resources
A degenerative process
That doesn't progress
But rather retrogress

Retrogress to animosity
Even in bare publicity
We castigate our society
To the abyss of ethnicity

Ethnicity based on insult
Even when we try consult
We all know the end result
It'l all be about tribal fault

Fault  that my tribe better than yours
That land, money, resources are ours
Regardless of all the contours
With my man in power, everything concurs

We say we the youth, our time is now
We must change narrative and not follow
Divisive politicians who are shallow
But our resolve with conviction follow

Conviction that things must get better
Because its our lives that now matter
Lest we end up collecting the clutter
After we destroy our very own butter

Today I say no to negative ethnicity
And vow to embrace ethnic positivity
All tribes under one Kenyan nationality
Under the protection of our God Almighty

LEST WE FORGET

These are my sincere observations
Since we declined honest conversations
We must be ready for the repercussions
Of the imminent revolution

We must stop the pretense
That has set the precedence
For the moral decadence
That today, threatens our existence!

As a people (Kenyans) we must think
Rather than watch our hopes shrink
When the politicians merry and drink
Oblivious that the country started to sink

When they hurled insults at one another
They made us choose against each other
Some of us even insulted our brother
Thinking that they didn’t bother

We are now stuck together in pain
As we suffer due to lack of grain
Yet the politicians vacation in Spain!

Should we really elect them again?

I HAVE MADE UP MY MIND

I have made up my mind
That to day I make a stand
With conscience as my brand
I must make known my demand

I have made up my mind
That I will always speak my mind
Even if it takes me to remand
For truth,I must fight to the end

I have made up mind
That I will fight for my land
And I must for all humanity defend
What is just, even with a bare hand

I have made up my mind
That I must be on the ground
To make sure there is no turn around
Because on Aug 8 we seal a bond

I have made up my mind
That corruption we must unwind
To thieves we need not be kind
But with chains bind their hand

JUSTICE MUST WIN

Everything has become breaking news
Divergent,different and skewed views
Have dominated in the worldviews
But justice must win,in my view

Mysterious deaths and disappearances
Have become everyday occurrences
They cannot all be mere coincidences
Justice must always take precedence

Who do you trust in these dark days
When the media glorify whoever pays
Even in the advent of unexplained forays
What is just must prevail, Always

Our country, Kenya, is at crossroads
When, we would rather make inroads
To reach and serve all the crowds
Development thrive where justice is broad

We need to change politics of yester generation
The youth hold the key to political progression
That will safeguard the future generation
Justice must be at the center of this election

We are no longer leaders of tomorrow
Our time is now! and we mustn't ever  borrow
From rogue politicians with thinking so narrow!
When they deny us our just chances to grow

This is the time we make our voices heard
Through our vote, which we must guard
We must in one voice speak, even the nerd
Speak for justice and peace shall prevail

MAN MUST LIVE

The day dawned yet its dusk
Spirits are down a life at risk
Stomach groans sign of trick
I lie down and listen to the clock tick
The day has lived

I smile to hide the desperation
I smile at least to get consolation
I smile as though in anticipation
I smile to cover the irritation
And again the day lives

The next morning life is still dark
The sun rises yet light doesn’t spark
Another day another problem in the pack
I stop the grumble and go to take crack
Because the day has to live

I pray and hope
But everything flope
Life’s is not a slope
Maybe I should take dope
Before the day lives

Is it the third day of the week?
I am feeling like a freak
Failures make my heart meek
I wonder if I’ll see end of week
The brew made my body weak
Did today live?

Today though, is a bright morning!
I have to stop this brooding and mourning
I swear to get up and start searching
When am still young and developing
Because, I must live.
